Kane speaks on Tuchel-Bellingham rift: 'He handled it in a truly professional manner'

⚽

Harry Kane has denied reports of a serious conflict between Thomas Tuchel and Jude Bellingham within the England squad at the 2026 World Cup. According to the captain, the young Real Madrid midfielder demonstrated exemplary professionalism in resolving the differences that arose.

'Yes, there were different views on tactical matters. That's normal for any professional team,' Kane said in an interview with FA Media. 'Jude showed just how mature he is as a player and as a person. He talked to the manager directly and they found a solution.'

Sources inside the England camp say Bellingham was unhappy with limited freedom on the ball in the 4-2-3-1 system preferred by Tuchel. The German coach wanted Jude to be more disciplined in the attacking midfielder role. Ultimately a compromise was found: the number ten was given more freedom in transition phases.

At the current tournament Bellingham has scored 4 goals and has become one of England's top scorers.
