Iga Swiatek defeated Diane Parry 6-3, 6-4 in the Cincinnati quarter-finals on Aug 19. Aryna Sabalenka beat Wang 6-1, 6-3. The Williams sisters lost doubles to Kostyuk/Stearns. Zverev reached the last 16.
Sabalenka beat Wang 6-1, 6-3 in about an hour. First serve held; return broke Wang’s second. The semi is open after Swiatek beat Parry.
Kostyuk and Stearns beat the Williams sisters in Cincinnati doubles. In singles Swiatek and Sabalenka are in the semis; Zverev reached the last 16.
Ben Shelton defended Montreal by beating Brandon Nakashima 6-3, 7-6(4), completing the event without dropping a set. Iga Swiatek beat Elena Rybakina 6-2, 6-3 in Toronto for her first title of 2026.
Shelton beat Tien 6-2, 6-3 and will face Nakashima, in a first Masters final. In Toronto, Swiatek beat Svitolina and Rybakina beat Gauff. Canada is the last big hard-court block before the US Open.
Ben Shelton stayed unbeaten on sets in Montreal, beating Joao Fonseca 6-3, 7-6(3). He faces Jakub Mensik in the quarters. Tallon Griekspoor was swept aside by Daniel Merida 6-3, 6-1.
Joao Fonseca beat Casper Ruud 7-6(6), 6-3 in Montreal’s third round and will face defending champion Ben Shelton for a quarterfinal spot.
Ben Shelton routed Zizou Bergs 6-3, 6-2 into the Montreal last 16. Tallon Griekspoor followed his Zverev upset by beating Arnaldi and joining him in R16.
Zverev crashed out in Montreal to Griekspoor 6-7, 6-2, 6-4. Shelton advanced, FAA withdrew — and the NBO draw opened wide.
Montreal main draw opened August 2 at the National Bank Open: Zverev and Auger-Aliassime lead the seeds, Popyrin and Tsitsipas qualified, and wildcard Chan delivered a home shock.
Carlos Alcaraz won Wimbledon for the second time — 6-4, 4-6, 3-6, 7-6, 6-3 against Jannik Sinner. The Spaniard proved once again that on grass he has no equal in the current generation.
